Special Report Aero India 2009

As the Indian defence budget grows the stature of Aero India too grows. With more and more deals emanating out of the show more and more participants are seen at the exhibition. This year too International Aerospace was able to put up a good show with a product that was far ahead of the competition.

In this issue we reproduce some of the key stories that graced the pages of the Show Daily at Aero India 2009 for our many readers who could not make it to the show. This year's Aero India 2009 centred around two major deals. One for the multirole aircraft and the other for Attack Helicopters. India is now surrounded by hostile forces and the need to arm herself against hostile elements becomes all the more important. The war in Sri Lanka, the mutiny in Bangla Desh, the attacks on Sri Lankan cricketers in Pakistan and the recent attacks in Mumbai means that India will have to source the best of technology to deter future attacks from both conventional forces and unorganised elements.
