Dog fight to grab mega Indian defense order

The skies of Bangalore, the vibrant hub of the Indian aerospace research and industry, are now a silent witness to the roar, thunder and breathtaking manoeuvres of the metal birds in the race to bag the mega Indian defense order for the supply of 126 medium, multirole combat aircraft (MMRCA) whose value could hover between US$10-12 billion depending upon the type of aircraft, its operational features and its weapons suite.

Current MRO environment in India: Challenges

Lots of hopes (and hypes) are being generated regarding MRO (maintenancerepair- overhaul) segment in India for the last 2-3 years. The DGCA Joint Director General even declared the year 2008 as "The Year of MRO" in one of Aviation Week’s executive round table meetings.

Is there water on the moon?

Moon, the nearest celestial neighbour of earth, has always fascinated man. Down the centuries, poets have been comparing a beautiful female face with the moon. However, various probes sent to moon over the last three decades have revealed a face of the moon that is far from beautiful. Right at the moment, the thrust of various lunar missions, both orbiting and landing, unveiled by various countries will be on finding clues for the presence of water in the permanently shadowed polar region of the moon.
